The goal of the Alexandria Library’s Volunteer Program is to enhance the Library’s ability to provide quality services to the public. The Volunteer Program brings a wealth of benefits to the Library, its staff, the community, and the volunteer.

Because libraries work with a wide variety of people, including a number of vulnerable populations, Alexandria Library has a lengthy application, orientation, and training process. Accepted applicants will be asked to submit to a background check run by the City of Alexandria.

The Beatley Library is looking to restart its ELL program and we need volunteers to support and lead ELL classes and conversation clubs. Beginner classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am-noon and we hope to add a weekday evening and Saturday morning class or conversation club.
We are looking for volunteers that will play, read and lead activities for children while their parent participates in ELL. This program would take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am - noon. Parents will be present in the same room. All volunteers would need to be background checked and provide vaccination documentation.
