Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Alexandria Library. The goal of the Alexandria Library’s Volunteer Program is to enhance the Library’s ability to provide quality services to the public. The Volunteer Program brings a wealth of benefits to the Library, its staff, the community, and the volunteer.
Volunteers CAN
Volunteers CAN’T
Because libraries work with a wide variety of people, including a number of vulnerable populations, Alexandria Library has a lengthy application, orientation, and training process. Accepted applicants will be asked to submit to a background check run by the City of Alexandria.
Our Library Friends groups are a great way to help. See them all at alexlibraryva.org/friends.
Volunteer Alexandria also offers other ways to volunteer.
