MOBILE HOTSPOTS

Hot Spots

A mobile hotspot is a small device that allows you to connect your computer, phone or other device to the internet while at home, at work, or anywhere there is a cellular signal.

You do not need an existing internet service account to use hotspots.

Service is provided by Verizon and coverage includes anywhere in the United States that Verizon covers.

You can connect multiple devices at one time.

The Mobile Hotspot Lending Program is being supported, in whole or in part, by federal award number CFDA # 21.027 awarded to the City of Alexandria by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

PLEASE NOTE

  • Hotspots have a 14-day checkout period and may be renewed once if there are no holds.
  • Regular/adult cardholders with accounts in good standing are eligible to borrow a hotspot.
  • Please return hotspots to library service desk, not in library book drop boxes.
  • Customers will be charged $25 for damaged or lost hotspots.
  • Replacement fees for any missing parts/pieces/bag will be billed to user’s account.
  • The library will not accept customer replacements for lost hotspots.
  • Alexandria Library is not responsible for damage that may occur to customer equipment through the application and use of the hotspot.
  • Data service to overdue hotspots will be turned off.
