THERMAL CAMERA KITS

A thermal imaging camera uses special sensors and a color map to illustrate the different temperatures of whatever you look at through the camera lens. This great tool shows you what your eyes can't.  You’ll see hot and cold spots where insulation is missing, identify where air is getting in or out of your house, and more.

Starting in February 2019, Alexandria Library customers can reserve a camera just like a book through the library catalog, and it will be shipped to your local library branch for pick up.

In partnership with Transportation and Environmental Services, the Alexandria Library is making these cameras available so that residents can inspect their home or business for hot and cold spots, which often indicate energy saving opportunities.

 

PLEASE NOTE

  • Thermal Cameras have a 14 day checkout period and may not be renewed online or via telephone.
  • Thermal Cameras cannot be returned in library book drop boxes. Customer will be billed for damages.
  • Damaged or lost Thermal Cameras will be billed to customers at the full replacement price of the camera.
  • Replacement charges will be placed on a library user’s record when any camera parts/pieces/bag are returned damaged or missing.
  • The library will not accept customer replacements for lost thermal cameras.
  • Alexandria Library is not responsible for damage that may occur to customer equipment through the application and use of the Thermal Camera component or any downloaded software required for Thermal Camera use.
  • Kits do not include an Apple or Android device.  Customers must supply their own device to use with the thermal camera.

Each Thermal Camera Kits contains the following:

  • One (1) Thermal Camera Component
  • One (1) USB Cable
  • One (1) Extender for Apple iOS device OR
  • Two (2) Extenders for Android device
  • One (1) Instruction Manual Notebook
  • One (1) Tote Bag
