C. Pam Zhang's novel, Land of Milk and Honey is about a time in the near future when smog spreads across the world creating a global food shortage and a talented chef takes a job on an exclusive mountainside that serves as home to a secret research lab and some of the world's wealthiest and most powerful people. While at this new job, the chef discovers just how far people will go for good food and comfort.
